A Mother's Love Song

Carolyn V. Jackson
My Inspiration

Who would’ve ever imagined when we first met, the pleasures in store for us. The time we shared compares to none other.  The love, a precious gift from heaven. Thanks for the memories.  A mother’s love song.

Your sweet smell and tender touch will never be forgotten.  The charm you possessed moved mountains.  The encouragement you gave helped me conquer the world.  How could I ever forget?  A mother’s love song.
(BRIDGE)
Your smile shielded the frowns.
Your comfort ceased my suffering.
Your tears made promises.
Your heart could never say no.

Now you are an angel with great beauty, dwelling with the Most High God, watching with great intent to learn of your efforts. I now show the world your love in a song. How could I ever let you down?  A mother’s love song.

After completing the first draft of Amazing Grace, my memoir; I believed I could do anything, just as she had always taught me.  I asked God to help me write her a song, and He delivered on December 16, 2007.  My debut as a lyricist. The melody plays in my head; missing from this hit: you.  ~Philippians 4:13
